The Fremont Community Recreation Authority is offering a professional internship to students working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within the field of parks and recreation. The internship will provide a well rounded experience in park district operations, administration, public recreation, facility management, special events, fiscal management, marketing, maintenance, and program management. The intern experience will include special events, youth athletics, leagues, day camp, and trips. Schedule includes daytime, evening and weekend activities. 15-17 weeks. Background: FCRA is a fairly new Rec Center (1 1/2 years old). The Fremont Rec Authority took over the Community Ed program that was ran by the high school. It provides youth and adult programming (sports and enrichment programs) and runs a fitness center. The town has a population of about 4,000 and is home to Gerber (baby food, insurance). The Rec Center serves surrounding communities also (Newaygo, Hesperia, White Cloud, Holton, Grant).
