Therapeutic Sports and Recreation Department at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital has modified our internship/fieldwork program to expand volunteer opportunities for students wishing to gain clinical experience prior to the Senior Internship.

We now offer 5 options for students to accumulate volunteer/fieldwork hours at Marianjoy:

School-based therapeutic recreation internship.

Manorcare Health Services in Oal Lawn East is looking for students for a great hands on internship!!  Manorcare Oak Lawn east is a rehab and long term care facility that has recently been reapproved to have recreation therapy interns.  They are currently loooking for recreation therapy interns for the fall/spring and next summer interships.

RECREATION INTERN

General Description:

 INTERN WITH MILITARY CHILDCARE AND YOUTH PROGRAMS Interns are placed on active military installations across the United States and abroad during their 10-15 week internship. Interns work directly with children and youth by creating and implementing age appropriate curricula and programs. They also learn about the management of child and youth centers, including financial and budgeting skills. Interns gain valuable professional skills that will help them in their future careers.
