Population: Adults ages 18+ with mental illness and/or substance abuse diagnosis in both inpatient and outpatient setting.
Interventions utilized: animal assisted therapy, therapeutic art, therapeutic music, dance/movement, yoga, leisure education, social skills development, sober lifestyle, emotional awareness.
Dates available: Accepting interns year round - must apply 3 months prior to desired start date.
General information: Internship is unpaid. General schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30- one or two weekend days may be required. Opportunity to work with 3 CTRS and 1 Dance/Movement Therapist, as well as the interdisciplinary team including nurses, case managers, psychiatrists, and mental health counselors.
Perks: Free continuing education lectures and free certification for Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and Adult First Aid/CPR.
Requirements: Must complete health screening, background check, and drug test.
