Competitive Sports Coordinator:
Turnstone is seeking an enthusiastic, organized person who is a leader, enjoys sports and working with people with physical and neurological disabilities in an adaptive sports arena. This position is the liaison for all competitive sports teams and responsible for providing efficient and effective communication among staff, players, coaches, parents, volunteers and Adaptive Sports and Rec staff. Duties will include: Communicate, coordinate and ensure practice and game times are scheduled, registrations completed (for games, teams and players); arrange transportation, lodging and other travel arrangements, maintain accurate and timely documentation, work with coaches and athletes to develop / evaluate individual athlete goals; maintain and report player statistics; identification of emerging Paralympic athletes; develop and initiate new team / individual sports programs and work with co-workers in a positive team building manner.
Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy, adaptive physical education or related field required. The preferred candidate will have a CTRS certification and experience working with people with disabilities in an adaptive sports and recreation program. This is a full time salaried position with benefits. Flexible schedule with evenings and weekend hours as well as occasional travel with the teams for away competition are required.
