The St. Charles Park District is offering a 2014 summer internship for students pursuing a degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies or related field at an accredited university. The student will assist with projects, programs and events within numerous areas of the park district including but not limited to aquatics, day camps, athletics, special events, senior programming, facility management, general programming, administration, budgeting and parks maintenance. The student will be ultimately responsible for specific events throughout the summer as well as creating 1-3 new programs for the fall brochure. This is a 12 week employment opportunity.
Candidates must be responsible, self motivated and have excellent time management skills. Must be available for flexible hours including night and weekend responsibilities. Candidates must be a current student of an accredited university pursuing a bachelor's degree in recreation or a related field. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and transportation to work.
Internship is available for the summer season only.
