From Luke Tanaka, USF Director of Athletic Communications:
I am currently in the process of hiring student workers for my department and am wondering if you have any students who may be interested in an on-campus job that exposes them to parts of the sports communication world. To give you a better idea of what my department does, I am responsible for all communications aspects for our 22 sports team. I update and maintain our athletics website and social media accounts, write articles, compile statistics at our athletic events, design and create any printed materials such as media guides, game programs, and game notes, among many other things.
For students, the job would start as a game day position, mainly helping me compile statistics at volleyball, football, and basketball games. However, I am hoping to expand the job description much further for the right candidates based on their interests. This could include writing, social media, photography, graphic design, etc. I am looking for students who are responsible, able to work nights and weekends, and, preferably, eligible for work study.
If you have any students who may be interested, please send their contact information to me and/or direct them to our online job posting. Although this posting only describes the statistics-related aspects of the job, my hope is to expand both the number of students and their responsibilities.
