As part of our Recreation Therapy Department, the full time Outdoor Specialist will be responsible for planning and implementing TR programs and events to meet the needs of patients and appropriate community members with disabilities. Individual will also be responsible for supervising volunteers and other staff on outside trips taken throughout the year, as well as work on adapting skills for people with disabilities in activities including boating, kayaking, riflery, camping, hunting, fishing, etc.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in therapeutic recreation or related specialty field is required; three years experience in TR or related specialty area, past experience working with individuals with disabilities, and current Lifeguard certification is preferred. A current Georgia driver's license and insurable MVR report by Shepherd's auto insurance policy is a must.
