Hours: 25-40 hours per week depending on position

SUMMARY:
The summer camp counselor creates a safe, fun environment for school aged children. Under the guidance of the Head Counselor, counselors’ are primarily responsible for providing and implementing a high quality, developmentally appropriate curriculum in specific program areas, ensuring children’s social, physical and mental development in the program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement the character counts curriculum on a daily basis.
- Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum based on the age of the children in the program.
- Responsible for the safety of the children in the program.
- Know health emergency procedures and evacuation plans.
- Assist in homework help and tutoring needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successfully complete pre-employment background check.
- A positive attitude and mature personality conducive to working effectively as a team player with diverse members, staff, volunteers and parents/guardians.
- Responsible, dependable, tenacious, and problem solver.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum high school diploma
