Competitive Sports Coordinator

Turnstone is seeking an enthusiastic, organized person who is a leader, enjoys sports and working with people with physical and neurological disabilities in an adaptive sports arena.  This position is the liaison for all competitive sports teams and responsible for providing efficient and effective communication among staff, players, coaches, parents, volunteers and Adaptive Sports and Rec staff. Duties will include: Communicate, coordinate and ensure practice and game times are scheduled, registrations completed (for games, teams and players); arrange transportation, lodging and other travel arrangements, maintain accurate and timely documentation, work with coaches and athletes to develop / evaluate individual athlete goals; maintain and report player statistics; identification of emerging Paralympic athletes; develop and initiate new team / individual sports programs and work with co-workers in a positive team building manner.

 Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy, adaptive physical education or related field required. The preferred candidate will have a CTRS certification and experience working with people with disabilities in an adaptive sports and recreation program.  This is a full time salaried position with benefits.  Flexible schedule with evenings and

 

Competition/Events Coordinator

Turnstone is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, organized and outgoing person to be responsible for all aspects of hosting adaptive sports and recreation tournaments, clinics and camps in Turnstone’s new state of the art fieldhouse (85,000 sq ft with 4 collegiate size basketball courts and a 230 meter indoor track).

This position is responsible for all aspects of hosting year round adaptive sports regional, national and international tournaments, clinics and camps. Duties include: provide efficient, timely and effective organization, leadership and communication;  design, develop and deliver adaptive sports tournaments, camps and clinics; develop and adhere to a budget; work with outside organizations (Visit FW, teams, coaches, event sponsors, National Governing  Bodies, etc.); arrange registration, transportation food and hotel accommodations for away teams, coordination of officials, recruit and train volunteers and work with co-workers in a positive team building manner.

Bachelor’s degree in sports management, recreation therapy or related field required.
