The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) is a national junior golf tour founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour will enter into its 8th season and is recognized as one of the premier junior tours in the country with over 3,500 members and 190 scheduled events during the 2015 season. The HJGT has become the largest junior golf tour in the country hosting more two-day events than any other tour. The tour's vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. Play is open to both males and females and the following is a list of age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 13-14, Boys 11-12, Girls 15-18 and Girls 11-14.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour offers a well-rounded career for ambitious and highly motivated individuals looking to develop a wide range of business skills. This position will require extensive work hours (50+ hours per week) with the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in the golf industry. The ideal candidate for the Tournament Director position will take great pride in his/her work and want to grow within the company. The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour encourages promotion from within and offers profit sharing opportunities for full time employees.
The position requires supervision of 6-8 interns in the office and on site at tournaments. The Tournament Director is also responsible for the supervision of volunteers and certified rules officials on course. This position is based on-site in Jacksonville, Florida while the new hire goes through management training and after training the new employee will either oversee the Jacksonville, FL location or Richmond, VA location. This position requires extensive travel, typically a minimum of 3 weekends per month across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Ohio, Alabama, Tennessee, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Indiana, Missouri, Illinois, Michigan, Louisiana, Connecticut and Kentucky. Tournament directors could be on the road for up to 2 weeks at a time without returning to Jacksonville depending on the schedule. Tournament directors fly and drive to destinations based on distance.
