The Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences at Texas A&M University is pleased to announce Graduate Assistantship openings for students interested in youth development for the fall, 2015 semester. Full assistantships include a stipend ($1,470 per month for masters students and $1,647 for doctoral students) and payment of tuition and fees. Graduate teaching and research assistants are generally required to work 20 hours per week throughout the academic year. Two types of Graduate Assistantships are available:
Teaching Assistantship: Teaching Assistants assist faculty in teaching undergraduate courses. Responsibilities may include presentation of select lectures, group discussion leadership, class organization and management tasks and identification and organization of class resources. Teaching assistants are mentored by the faculty and receive constructive evaluative feedback concerning their pedagogy skills.
