Job Postings:
People can have a job, a career, or a calling. Camp Augusta is looking for folks who have a calling! Work, play, learn, struggle and grow in a vibrant community this summer facilitating the growth of children, yourself and others in a community. Just because you can get a job at any camp, doesn’t mean that you want a job at any camp. Camp Augusta is different because we operate on a structure of flat hierarchy, consensus, and intention with every action. We have many activities and resources that you are unlikely to find at other camps and the people within the community of Camp Augusta are what give it a rich flavor. People of all different walks of life flock to Augusta to serve our Mission... To reclaim and foster the beauty, wonder, awe, potential, and innocence of childhood.
We aim to give children the experience of living without many of the modern conveniences that are present in their everyday lives. They get the chance to experience living in an open-air cabin without electricity. There are no televisions or stereos so they make their own music. We offer a variety of activities that they may not have tried or even seen before: sword fighting, whips, fire spinning, high and low ropes, archery and horseback riding to name a few.
There is a great deal of information on our website regarding the philosophy of camp and the activities we offer. If you are interested in Camp Augusta, please look those over carefully. Camp Augusta is a magical place full of challenge and growth, as well as a whole lot of time spent on pre-camp work before you arrive. Before you begin the application, we hope you make sure this camp is right for you. Read the entire staff experience section on our website (http://campaugusta.org/staff/experience/). Read the PDF files contained there as well.
Please be advised, Summer is from May 17th through August 13th. If desired, there are pre-season family camps and school groups, starting in late April. Later start dates are possible depending on skills. Post summer work is available as well.
If, after reading everything and you still feel good about trying out Augusta, shoot us an email at applications@campaugusta.org and we'll get back to you usually within 24 hours.
