My name is Kyle Chones, Director at the Diabetes Partnership of Cleveland's Camp Ho Mita Koda. Camp Ho Mita Koda is a summer residential camp for children and teens ages 4-17 living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Located in Newbury, Ohio (25 miles east of Cleveland), Camp Ho Mita Koda is the oldest diabetes camp in the United States, celebrating our 85th anniversary this past summer.
Campers attend camp to experience traditional outdoor camping, learn about diabetes & nutrition and make new friends. I am reaching out to you to see if anyone of your students are interested in working at our summer camp. Our summer camp season is from June 23-August 2. Each session consists of either 6-days and a 13-day session. Certified Program Specialist and staff will work with our campers and counselors in assisting or leading activities such as archery, arts & crafts, fishing, hiking, challenge course & climbing wall, paintball, team sports, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, outdoor education and much more.
Currently, our online applications are available on our camp website (http://www.diabetespartnership.org/camp/camp---employment---openings). Students can apply online in just minutes and follow up interviews will be conducted by myself and our Program Director beginning in January.
If this may be of interest to your students please email or give us a call at (216) 591-0800 ex. 34. We would love to have your students attend our beautiful camp. Thank you for your time and consideration!
Happy Holidays,
Kyle
